These are the 15 communities that make up Ozuitem town in Abia state.
Ndiambe a major pride of Ozuitem is a tourist haven. Your visit is incomplete until
you have visited Ndiambe. Now put on your seat belt, follow me and I
will be your tour guide as we explore the touristic potentials of
Ndiambe (HIGH LANDERS)
First it will interest you to know that Ndiambe is the last village in
Ozuitem. Whether you are coming into Ozuitem from Uzuakoli or from
Igbere or even from Umuahia via Ogboko, Ndiambe is the last village.
Now history has it that they are so situated because of their warrios.
Those days Ndiambe used to defend the village from external aggression
mostly from Uzuakoli and Abom. It is at Ndiambe that you see giants in
Ozuitem. A visit to the village still reveal that fact. We still have
men aboves six feet with broad Chest and legs without shoe size in The
Onyekabas, Chikias, Ukejelams etc.
The topography of Ndiambe is a
distinguishing factor that will satisfy your tourism curiosity. Ndiambe
is the only village in Ozuitem surrounded with hills. No matter from
where you enter Ndiambe, be ready to have a mountain climbing
experience thus Ndiambe is a village on top of the hill. Its never hot
in Ndiambe. The Geographical location gives Ndiambe a tempereture
cooler than else where in Ozuitem.
Its said "anaghi eji ósó aga
ógú la Ndiambe" meaning ''dont hurry on your aggression in Ndiambe''. Entering Ndiambe you will be visited with a level land
which host a football pitch. A level land on top of a hill. The
vegetation is second to none. As you head inland, you have a
warm and hospitable people. Ready to host all visitors thus its said
"Anaghi aga Ndiambe gbari ahó ótú'' meaning ''you will never visit Ndiambe and return hungry''
Down towards the stream is a
communally constructed plank bridge similar only to the type found in the Caribbeans. Below the bridge is over a 20ft gully. A heart quaking gully but
pleasant to view. The bridge led to The Ancient Akó Stream. A pure
stream that you cant afford to leave Ndiambe without taking a fresh
bath. That is why its had for any son of Ndiambe in Ozuitem to spend a
night else where. No matter the time of the day he will go home. The
Añuru Edoa spring is another site to behold. A pure spring water coming out
straght from a stone, its the height of our heritage in Ndiambe. Very
pure, fresh and cool that you cant help to a sip. Anuru Edoa
runs all season.
Yes Ndiambe parades
talented and physically feet young men. Ekwo Mgba is never taken in
until Ndiambe boys comes to mgba. Next time You Come to Ozuitem - VISIT
